About the rol e

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Planning Analyst with a passion for the aquatics or youth sports industry to join our team. The Planning Analyst will be responsible for managing inventory planning for our competitive swim division. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams and vendors to maximize sales, maintain optimal in-stock levels, optimize inventory turnover, and drive profitable growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in demand planning, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively. Experience with inventory and demand planning processes and tools—including category and assortment planning, open-to-buy, replenishment, and price optimization—is essential. A key part of this role will be leveraging AI technologies, automation, and advanced analytics to streamline workflows, improve forecast accuracy, and enhance overall operational efficiency.

What you'll do

  • Develop and implement demand forecasting strategies for the competitive swim industry, considering team buys, seasonal demand, and unique market dynamics.
  • Analyze sales trends, seasonality, and promotional activities to forecast demand accurately and determine inventory needs.
  • Run daily, weekly, and monthly ad hoc reports to monitor sales performance and inventory efficiency.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels and manage open-to-buy dollars for both new and replenishment receipts while balancing stock-to-sales ratios.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships with vendors, buyers, and the warehouse to ensure efficient movement of goods through the supply chain.
  • Work with vendors to ensure maximum in-stocks, assess weeks of supply, sell-through rates, and sales trends, and communicate areas for improvement to merchandising teams.
  • Collaborate with the Team Sales division to gather insights on sales trends, customer needs, and other market dynamics to drive best-in-class demand planning practices and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Work with Merchants to execute both in-season and end-of-life product pricing strategies.
  • Identify, implement, and optimize AI-driven, automated, and data-enhanced solutions to improve planning processes, reduce manual workloads, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes by understanding the strategic components of the business and driving implementation.
  • Foster a positive work atmosphere that strengthens the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Math, or a related field (preferred).
  • 4+ years of experience in demand planning, inventory management, or a related role, ideally in the aquatics or youth sports industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets, solve problems, and remain organized and resourceful.
  • Business knowledge of retail and supply chain concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to build and improve efficient processes and navigate ambiguity.
  • Capable of multitasking and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in AI tools and automation platforms to improve forecasting, reporting, and operational workflows.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), business intelligence (BI) tools, or data analytics platforms, and experience with demand planning software, with a strong aptitude for learning new technical applications quickly.

Bonus Points

A background in aquatics or youth sports.
