Position: Safety Compliance Specialist

Kimbro Oil Company is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Safety Compliance Specialist to join our growing team. This critical role is responsible for promoting and ensuring a safe and compliant work environment across our operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA regulations and experience managing safety compliance programs and claims. Excellent communication skills are essential, as this position requires frequent engagement with employees at all levels to foster a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain driver qualification files, drug/alcohol testing logs, Clearinghouse queries
  • Conduct MVR reviews and HOS audits
  • Coordinate OSHA reporting and maintain 300 logs
  • Lead safety meetings, training, and accident investigations
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external audits
  • Handle Claim Management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
  • 3+ years in transportation safety or DOT compliance
  • Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, Clearinghouse, and risk protocols
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience with CDL driver safety programs, audits, and recordkeeping
  • Strong understanding of incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
  • Familiarity with workers’ compensation claims, injury reporting, and return-to-work programs
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver safety training for diverse employee groups
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, safety inspections, and hazard mitigation
  • Certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Director of Safety (CDS), or OSHA 30-Hour preferred
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operations, HR, and leadership teams
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement
