Sommelier – Fine Dining Michelin Restaurant

$80,000 - $90,000 + Tips

Your Role with the Company:

  • Provide warm, professional, and attentive service, guiding guests through wine selections and ensuring all beverage service standards are met
  • Collaborate with the Lead Sommelier to train, mentor, and develop junior staff in wine knowledge, service technique, and overall beverage education
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the wine cellar and fridges; assist with receiving, binning, and storing wine to ensure proper inventory management
  • Ensure accuracy of wine list and takeaway options; assist with monthly inventory of wine and glassware
  • Support beverage cost control by monitoring pour levels, minimizing waste, and reporting corked or faulted wines to the Lead Sommelier
  • Contribute to development and preparation of non-alcoholic beverages and creative pairing options
  • Stay current with wine trends through regular tasting, research, and active industry engagement
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including POS reconciliation, gratuity tallies, and completion of any remaining side work
  • Uphold all steps of service with consistency and precision to ensure every guest receives exceptional hospitality

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Level 1 Sommelier (or higher) in a Michelin-starred establishment
  • Excellent food and beverage knowledge with a strong foundation in French wines and cuisine
  • Proficient understanding of Google Workspace and Inventory systems
  • Strong leadership and mentorship abilities with commitment to excellence, sustainability, and growth
  • Effective communicator with sharp problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask and stay composed in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Highly detail-oriented and physically capable of executing all responsibilities safely and efficiently, including use of tools, equipment, and guest service execution
