Job Description

The Test Equipment Software Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining robust test platforms that support embedded software verification across various stages of the development lifecycle. This role involves designing both hardware and software solutions to meet stringent test specifications and industry standards, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and document software and hardware solutions for automated test platforms that support embedded software verification.
  • Ensure all test equipment meets functional specifications and complies with applicable industry regulations.
  • Leverage off-the-shelf and custom components to create comprehensive and scalable verification environments.
  • Integrate test systems into Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines to enable automated hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), model-in-the-loop (MIL), and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to test systems and provide technical support during development and verification phases.
  • Communicate limitations, propose enhancements, and provide implementation plans to internal stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience; or 5 years of experience without a degree.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across disciplines to meet project objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools for designing reliable test systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and understand embedded software behavior.
  • Strong skills in debugging communication protocols and analyzing data.
  • Experience in safety-critical or regulated industries such as aerospace, automotive, or medical devices.
