A leading provider of logistics and supply chain solutions is seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Manager to support and oversee global trade activities.

Position Summary

The Trade Compliance Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of export compliance and operational coordination. This role involves supervising daily export functions, ensuring adherence to applicable trade laws and regulations, and partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain smooth and compliant logistics operations. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of leadership, regulatory knowledge, and problem-solving ability to this fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day export operations and ensure full compliance with international trade requirements
  • Maintain and update standard procedures related to import and export processes
  • Keep accurate electronic documentation to support compliance and traceability
  • Conduct internal assessments and audits to monitor compliance and report findings to leadership
  • Identify and escalate potential compliance risks, and collaborate with clients on resolution
  • Support product classifications and handle required export documentation, including licensing where applicable
  • Ensure all technology transfers and export activities meet relevant regulations
  • Monitor key performance indicators and departmental effectiveness
  • Deliver regular performance reports related to team members and customer activities
  • Oversee compliance requirements for any designated trade programs or zones (e.g., Foreign Trade Zones)
  • Perform internal reviews and investigations related to import/export activities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with U.S. government agencies regarding trade compliance

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in global trade compliance, preferably in a logistics or supply chain environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory or managerial experience
  • Working knowledge of U.S. and international trade laws and regulations (e.g., EAR, OFAC, ITAR)
  • Familiarity with customs procedures, trade programs (e.g., FTZ, CTPAT), and government reporting systems
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and the ability to adapt to new technologies
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Ability to build effective relationships with team members, clients, and external partners
  • Willingness to travel as needed
